Our Connect Kids area is secure. This means that we do not allow anyone past the secure check-in station that has not been background checked and trained to be a volunteer with our children. Parents may only come past the check-in point if they are chaperoned by one of our Connect Kids volunteers.
Connect Kids volunteers do not change diapers. In the case of a needed diaper change the parent or guardian will be paged on the worship screen by flashing the child's security code. There is a family restroom with a changing table available. Diapers are not supplied by Connect Church.
Well Child Policy. Connect Church strives to maintain a healthy environment for our families. In order to protect our children from the spread of contagious infections and sickness, we ask parents to be familiar with our well child policy. We cannot admit children into our environments that are experiencing:
- A fever over 100 degrees F.
- Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
- Runny nose with yellow/green discharge (which indicates an infection)
- Pink eye or other eye infection (yellow/green discharge). (Child must have been on antibiotics for 24 hours)
- Chronic cough or croup.
- Strep throat (child must have been on antibiotics for 3 days)
- Unexplained or contagious skin rash.
- Open skin lesions or other wounds unless the wound is bandaged.
- Parasites (nits, lice, mites, ring worm, etc)
- Any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox or whooping cough.
- Any communicable disease
- A child who is too listless to participate, and complains of not feeling well needs to stay with their parent, even if no other symptoms are present.
Adult/ Child Ratios. Although Connect is not a licensed childcare facility, we strive to maintain adult:child ratios that are similar to the standards set by the province of Alberta for licensed care facilities. Please come early to check in your child as we can not guarantee space for them in Connect Kids if we are full.
